Meet the team
Professor Matt Wyon, PhD
Professor in Dance Science
Matt is the course leader for the Professional Doctorate in Health and Wellbeing and the Director of Studies for a number of dance science and medicine doctoral candidates.
He is a founding partner of the National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science, UK and was the President of International Association for Dance Medicine & Science between 2015-17.
He has worked with numerous dancers and companies within the UK and Europe as an applied physiologist and strength and conditioning coach.
His research focuses on injury epidemiology and performance enhancement in dance; presently he has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in dance medicine and science.
Dr. Ross Cloak
Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Science
Ross is experienced sport science professional, having collaborated with various sports teams, including professional football clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Walsall FC and GB Judo.
Ross is accredited with the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) and in Functional Movement Screen (FMS) assessment, serving as the CPD Advisory Group Chair for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) and playing a key role in interdisciplinary projects on injury prevention, performance enhancement, and decision-making under fatigue.
Dr. Ian Lahart
Reader in Clinical Exercise Science
Ian specialises in the role of physical activity in preventing and treating non-communicable diseases, with his research encompassing cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic conditions, and arthritis, with a focus on meta-research and science communication.
With experience in clinical trial design, statistical analysis, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, he has led MacMillan-funded cancer rehabilitation services, conducted randomized controlled trials, and published in high-impact journals on exercise and chronic disease.
Daniel Robinson
Demonstrator and Running Coach
Dan has been providing physiology testing at the University for a number of years, combining this with his research into the management of fatigue by endurance athletes. He has coached athletes of all levels on the track and road. He teaches on physiology and psychology and continues against all sense to try and improve his marathon PB.

Scheduling Policies
Booking policies
To secure an appointment via our online scheduling system, you are required to pre-pay for the desired service.
Cancellation policies
If you have to cancel your appointment, you will receive a full refund if cancelled within 7 days of the appointment. Refunds are not available for cancellations made within 7 days of your appointment, but you will be able to reschedule.
If you need to rearrange your appointment, please refer to your booking confirmation email.

Pre-appointment policies
If you are booking a biomechanics test, you will be directed to complete and submit and Informed Consent Form and Pre-Test Questionnaire.
If you are booking a physiology test, you will be directed to complete and submit and Informed Consent Form, Pre-Test Questionnaire and Questionnaire for potential participants in projects involving blood analysis.
These forms will be accessible via your booking confirmation email should you need to update them.
