One retake for each assessment is included within the course fee. Subsequent retakes are subject to an additional fee of £45 each, to be taken within 6 weeks of initial assessment.
Course running is subject to minimum of 6 registrations.
The University of Wolverhampton Health and Performance Centre are pleased to be offering the S&C Trainer Diploma, starting in October 2024.
Content
The Transcend Awards Level 3 Diploma for UKSCA Strength and Conditioning Trainers is an Ofqual regulated vocational qualification developed in collaboration with the UKSCA as the Professional Body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK, and CIMSPA as the Professional Body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector.
This course provides learners with a nationally recognised vocational S&C qualification which is aligned to the CIMSPA S&C Trainer professional Standard.
Through a combination of in-person practical workshops, online learning and independent study tasks, learners will develop their competencies in designing and implementing exercise and training programmes that include:
Foundational Movement Skills - Flexibility, mobility, stability, balance, co-ordination
Energy System Training - Aerobic and anaerobic endurance, low and high intensity training
Strength Based Training - Muscular and strength endurance, hypertrophy, maximal strength, rate of force, explosive strength
Delivery
On site weekend workshops and assessments at the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus, delivered by our S&C team within our Health and Performance Suite.
Independent online learning via the UKSCA members’ platform (learners will gain access to online materials at least 1 week ahead of course start date).
Tutor-lead online learning and support
Independently lead professional development activities and study
Assessments
A combination of:
In-person practical assessments (A - gym safety, B - foundational movement skills, C - strength-based training)
Online quizzes and e-learning modules (via UKSCA portal)
Case study presentations of applied work carried out (D & E)
Reflective practice log of applied work (E)
